The reason is very simple, you can buy them dried, and the blueberries are one of those foods which retain their nutrition when dry. Combine your blueberries with grains and honey and breakfast is ready. Yes, you can even make milk using the grain spelt.

Celery is can be eaten raw, grown at home and cost you absolutely nothing once it is up and growing. It can be added to so many dishes and absorbs the flavors of other foods such as chilies.

Chili, garlic, and honey can be used as a flavoring, and did you know that limes make a fantastic salt substitute? Seaweed and tomatoes raise the nutritional value of your food, and once again, they can be used in both stews and soups. Also, they are available as dried plant based super foods which will make it easier for you to store them. In other words, with some basic food items available, you can cook some fantastic dishes.

Unless you are allergic tomatoes, you really need to make them part of your plant based super foods kitchen. They are simply fantastic as they come in many different shapes and sizes. A large carton of tomato passata sauce combined with garlic, chili, and honey, can produce the most wonderful soup in no time at all. Consider making a little bit more as you can take it to work with you the next day.

Preparation is often more important than the actual drying process.

First, make sure that your tomatoes are nice and fresh. Give them a quick wash but don’t blast them with cold water as this may damage them.

Place your tomatoes on a tray ready to be baked. Set the oven to 200 Fahrenheit. It is now you can add your personal taste. If you don’t want to enjoy the taste of plain tomatoes, you can add herbs and spices such as garlic, rosemary, spices, and salt. As a matter of fact, you can add any herb of spice you would like. The process of drying your tomatoes in the oven will take about 9 – 1 hours.

Store your tomatoes in airtight containers or bags. Check out some of the storage bags which are so popular with prepper community. The tomatoes should last for at least a year and are the best way to enjoy a healthy summer food during the colder part of the year.

When you want to enjoy your tomatoes, you can rehydrate them in a bowl with olive oil or some vegetable stock.

Yes, broccoli truly is amazing and must be part of your vegan superfoods list. The thing about broccoli is that it is one of the few vegetables which is high in both bioflavonoids and antioxidants. Phytochemicals are found in all plant based foods, but in broccoli, they are just off the scale.
